SUMMARY:Scouting for Food 2021
DESCRIPTION:The Scout Law states that “A Scout is Helpful”. By participating in a Scouting for Food program\, Scouts come a step closer to fulfilling those words. In Chester County Council\, packs\, troops\, and crews are involved with hundreds of Scouts to collect food and distribute to their local hungry neighbors. \nThe campaign in Chester County runs from Saturday\, November 13th when the Scouts drop off bags on their neighbors’ doors\, to Saturday\, November 20th when they return to those same homes and pick up the bags. \nThis year’s Scouting for Food is taking on a new look! In partnership with the Chester County Food Bank\, we will have a centralized drop off location at PARC on November 20th. Our council goal is to pack our truck all the way to the roof!\n\nBags and door hangers are available NOW at PARC\, or contact Cubmaster Beam at Cubmaster@nullcubpack110.com\n\nCentral bag collection will be from 10am to 5pm on November 20th at PARC.

SUMMARY:Pack Meeting: Pumpkins In The Park - Great Pumpkin Carve
DESCRIPTION:Back by popular demand! Please join us on Friday\, October 22nd\, at 5:45 pm for the Pack 110 meeting and Great Pumpkin Carve! (Rain Date: Sunday\, October 24th at 5:00 pm) \nAfter the opening ceremonies the Scouts and their families will be given 30 minutes to carve and decorate your pumpkin.  Once all of the pumpkins are decorated\, we will light them up and display them on the amphitheater stage to give the Scouts a chance to see the creations that their friends made.  It should be a truly special event. \nWe will be hosting this meeting at East Bradford Park in the field by the amphitheater. Each family should bring a picnic blanket to spread out on the field to ensure sufficient social distance. Please dress warmly and remember your mask!   \n  \nNecessary Supplies for this meeting\nPlease Remember to bring a hollowed out pumpkin ready to decorate and the necessary tools for your carving / decorating. \nWe strongly recommend picking up a couple of Pumpkin Carving Kits similar to the one pictured here. These actually work very nicely and they are much safer than kitchen knives.  They can be purchased for a couple of dollars at most stores that carry Halloween supplies.  The tools do break relatively easy though\, so you may want to bring spare tools. \n\nPlease remember to bring:\n\nHollowed out pumpkin\nCarving tools\nPicnic blanket\nWarm clothes and mask\nFilled reusable water bottle\nFlashlight\n\n  \nCOVID-19 Risk Reduction Plan \n\nAll attendees should perform a self health assessment prior to the event to ensure that they are free from signs of COVID-19 including verifying temperatures are below 100.4 degrees.  If you are unsure\, you should not attend.\nALL ATTENDEES ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO WEAR A CLOTH FACE MASK AT ALL TIMES. BOTH PARENTS AND SCOUTS.\nThis is an entire pack event.  Please bring a picnic blanket as your families “home base” to ensure proper social distancing.  There is lots of field. Spread Out. 🙂\nHand sanitizer will be provided by the pack\, although we recommend that each scout comes with their own to minimize sharing.

SUMMARY:Save the Date! Cub Scout Overnight Camp - 7/22-7/25
DESCRIPTION:This summer\, Pack 110 will be attending Camp Ware’s Cub Scout Overnight Camp from July 22nd to July 25th. Summer camp is an exciting opportunity for Cub Scouts to have a lot of fun while accomplishing many requirements to help them along the advancement trail. Overnight resident camp offers programs that draw from the Cub Scout advancement requirements in your scout’s book wrapped up in a cool theme. \nPrograms are rank specific\, designed to help Scouts advance.  During the four & five day sessions Webelos can begin their adventure on Wednesday or Thursday; Cub Scouts will begin their stay on Thursday. \nYour Scout will have an amazing adventure swimming\, shooting\, exploring nature\, building things\, crafting\, playing games and making new friends. The Cub Scout summer camp experience runs Thursday through Sunday for all ranks (Tiger\, Bear\, Wolf\, Webelos and Arrow of Light). \nGiven the option to arrive a day early\, your Webelos/Arrow of Light scouts get the camp to themselves. Program provides them with a little extra something regarding moving on to Boy Scouts but don’t fear they’ll get equally as much attending for only four days.  This is pretty cool in that the Webelos can then help the younger Scouts acclimate. Regardless of when you get to camp\, a great time is guaranteed… Both Scouts and adults! \nParent Campers Welcome\, but not Required\nIn order to have a successful week at camp\, we are required to have adequate parent attendees to supervise the scouts\, but if you can’t attend your scout still can.  Besides the opportunity to spend quality time with your son/Scout in an outdoor setting void of the distractions video games and television\, you too will benefit from the valuable message shared by our trained camp staff. Summer camp also provides a phenomenal opportunity to interact with other leaders where ideas\, challenges and experiences are shared. We promise that you too will have a great time at camp! \nRates:\nNO FEE INCREASE FOR 2021! \nCub Scout/Webelos 4-day ‘Early Bird’ Rate (if paid on or before 4/30/21) – $340\nCub Scout/Webelos 4-day Regular Rate (if paid after 4/30/21) – $400\nWebelos 5-day ‘Early Bird’ Rate (if paid on or before 4/30/21) – $365\nWebelos 5-day Regular Rate (if paid after 4/30/21) – $425 \nAdults 4-day or 5-day – $75 \nDen Chief – $150 \nRSVP / Questions?\nIf you would like to attend or have any questions\, please feel free to secure your spot by paying below or contact the Cubmaster at cubmaster@nullcubpack110.com.

SUMMARY:COMMUNITY SERVICE - Flags for Heroes
DESCRIPTION:Troop 93\, in conjunction with the American Legion of WC\, on May 22nd\, we will be placing flags on veterans’ graves in four West Chester area cemeteries.  This way the flags are in place for Memorial Day on May 31st. We will meet at 830am\, at Birmingham Cemetery (1235 Birmingham Road) and should be done before noon. \nTroop 93 has extended an invitation to Pack 110. \nMemorial Day is an American holiday\, observed on the last Monday of May\, honoring the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. Memorial Day 2021 will occur on Monday\, May 31. \nOriginally known as Decoration Day\, it originated in the years following the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971. Many Americans observe Memorial Day by visiting cemeteries or memorials\, holding family gatherings and participating in parades. Unofficially\, it marks the beginning of the summer season. Boalsburg\, PA (near State College) is one of a few towns in the U.S. that claims to have started the tradition. \nThose that are interested should contact Mark Pontzer prior to the 22nd.  MarkPontzer@nullgmail.com

SUMMARY:COMMUNITY SERVICE - Brandywine River Cleanup
DESCRIPTION:More than 500\,000 residents in Pennsylvania and Delaware rely on the Brandywine as the source of their drinking water. Each year\, the Annual Brandywine River Clean-up helps to ensure cleaner water for communities that rely on the Brandywine as a source for their drinking water\, a healthier habitat for wildlife\, and a safer environment for recreational activities. \nLend a hand at this year’s Brandywine River Clean-up! In an abundance of caution\, we will not be gathering at any specific location. Volunteers are encouraged to register for a Clean-up Kit\, which will provide you with the things you need to make a difference in our community during the week of Earth Day (Friday\, April 16 – Sunday\, April 25). \nAs part of a Scouts annual requirements\, each scout is required to do a community service.  If your scout has not had the opportunity to do so yet this year\, here is a great opportunity that is outdoors and family oriented. \nMany programs are not permitting group signups\, so click on the register online button to be taken to the individual signup page.  You can select a day that works for you and your scout.  Once you have done the cleanup\, report in to your Den Leader so that they can record your service. \nIf you have any question\, please reach out to cubmaster@nullcubpack110.com.com

SUMMARY:POSTPONED TO RAIN DATE - Pack Meeting: Pumpkins In The Park - Great Pumpkin Carve
DESCRIPTION:Back by popular demand! Please join us on Friday\, October 16th\, at 5:15 pm for the Pack 110 meeting and Great Pumpkin Carve! (Rain Date: Sunday\, October 18th at 5:00 pm) \nAfter the opening ceremonies the Scouts and their families will be given 30 minutes to carve and decorate your pumpkin. Additionally\, to keep numbers as low as possible\, we are asking for 1 parent chaperone per Scout family. If you are unsure\, you should not attend.\nALL ATTENDEES ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR A CLOTH FACE MASK AT ALL TIMES. BOTH PARENTS AND SCOUTS.\nThis is an entire pack event.  Please bring a picnic blanket as your families “home base” to ensure proper social distancing.  There is lots of field. Spread Out. 🙂\nOne Parent Chaperone per Scout family.\nHand sanitizer will be provided by the pack\, although we recommend that each scout comes with their own to minimize sharing.
