DESCRIPTION:LET’S RACE!!! \nJoin us for an afternoon of outdoor fun\, and be sure to let anyone that is interested in Scouting know that they may attend.  It will be an afternoon of racing and field game fun. \nWe will be setting up the Pinewood derby track early this year and let the kids race!  On stage in the Kenmara Park Amphitheater will have an open exhibition race where the Scouts can bring their pinewood cars from prior years and go head to head with their peers.  For new scouts or scouts that do not have their own cars\, we will have loaner cars available. \nWhile one den is racing on the pinewood track\, the other will be in the field engaging in team building relay races. \nWe hope to see you there. \n  \nCOVID-19 Risk Reduction Plan \n\nAll attendees should perform a self health assessment prior to the event to ensure that they are free from signs of COVID-19 including verifying temperatures are below 100.4 degrees.  If you are unsure\, you should not attend.\nALL ATTENDEES ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR A CLOTH FACE MASK AT ALL TIMES. BOTH PARENTS AND SCOUTS.\nHand sanitizer will be provided by the pack\, although we recommend that each scout comes with their own to minimize sharing.\nHigh touch surfaces will be sanitized between Den heats.\nEach event is designed to spread the Scouts out and achieve physical distancing wherever possible.  Please note: keeping the kids apart is difficult and proper distance may not be achieved at all times.

DESCRIPTION:This summer\, Pack 110 will be attending Camp Ware’s Cub Scout Overnight Camp from July 30th to August 2nd. Summer camp is an exciting opportunity for Cub Scouts to have a lot of fun while accomplishing many requirements to help them along the advancement trail. Overnight resident camp offers programs that draw from the Cub Scout advancement requirements in your scout’s book wrapped up in a cool theme. \nPrograms are rank specific\, designed to help Scouts advance.  During the four & five day sessions Webelos can begin their adventure on Wednesday or Thursday; Cub Scouts will begin their stay on Thursday. \nYour Scout will have an amazing adventure swimming\, shooting\, exploring nature\, building things\, crafting\, playing games and making new friends. The Cub Scout summer camp experience runs Thursday through Sunday for all ranks (Tiger\, Bear\, Wolf\, Webelos and Arrow of Light). \nGiven the option to arrive a day early\, your Webelos/Arrow of Light scouts get the camp to themselves. Program provides them with a little extra something regarding moving on to Boy Scouts but don’t fear they’ll get equally as much attending for only four days.  This is pretty cool in that the Webelos can then help the younger Scouts acclimate. Regardless of when you get to camp\, a great time is guaranteed… Both Scouts and adults! \nParent Campers Welcome\, but not Required\nIn order to have a successful week at camp\, we are required to have adequate parent attendees to supervise the scouts\, but if you can’t attend your scout still can.  Besides the opportunity to spend quality time with your son/Scout in an outdoor setting void of the distractions video games and television\, you too will benefit from the valuable message shared by our trained camp staff. Summer camp also provides a phenomenal opportunity to interact with other leaders where ideas\, challenges and experiences are shared. SUMMARY:St. Paul's MLK Day of Service
DESCRIPTION:We will be teaming up with Boy Scout Troop 93 again this year for a day of Community Service.  We will begin by meeting at St. Paul’s Baptist Church between 8:00 and 8:15 and then proceed to locations around West Chester for service opportunities (will need a few parents for transportation) and then return to St. Paul’s. We are normally done by noonish and St. Paul’s Baptist Church provides lunch for anyone that participates so please plan on picking up your scout (if you are not attending with them) around 1:00.  The Cubs had a great time working with the Boy Scouts last year.  Please let me know if you and your Scout would like to participate by Thursday\, January 16th – we will need to know the name of the Scout and parent and parent’s cell phone number. \nIn past years\, the boys have participated in food donation sorting\, meal bag preparation\, Day Care story time\, supermarket food collection\, etc.  Each volunteer is asked to bring a non-perishable food item with them for the MLK Food Drive. \nPlease RSVP via Scoutbook as soon as possible.

DESCRIPTION:The 2020 Pinewood Derby will be on January 10th\, 2020 so it’s time start planning those cars.  Pinewood Derby Kits will be distributed to all scouts at the December Pack meeting. \nHere are a few tips & reminders:\nPlease review the official rules as this will make the check-in which starts at 6:00 and closes at 6:45 go much smoother – Pinewood-Derby-Rules. Scout cars must be made with the materials contained in the Pinewood Derby kits and weigh no more than 5oz. fully constructed. \nIn addition to awards for the fastest cars\, awards will be given for the following other categories: \nCubs Choice\, Judges Choice\, Most Original\, Best Cub-Scout Theme\, Most Aerodynamic\, Most Patriotic \nSiblings and adults are welcomed and encouraged to build their own Pinewood Derby Cars for a special Open Races. Adult and sibling cars must fit the track dimensions as stated in the rules\, but may exceed the weight limit up to 10oz. The car must be made from the official pinewood derby kit block and have 3/8″ clearance so that it will run down the track\, almost anything else goes. \nMore information can be found on the PWD-flyer and if you are looking for inspiration\, check out Boy’s Life’s Amazing Pinewood Derby Car Designs of 2019. \nHungry? SUMMARY:Scouting for Food 2019
DESCRIPTION:The Scout Law states that “A Scout is Helpful”. By participating in a Scouting for Food program\, Scouts come a step closer to fulfilling those words. In Chester County Council\, packs\, troops\, and crews are involved with hundreds of Scouts to collect food and distribute to their local hungry neighbors. \nThe campaign in Chester County runs from Saturday\, November 16th when the Scouts drop off bags on their neighbors’ doors\, to Saturday\, November 23rd when they return to those same homes and pick up the bags. Once the bags have been picked up\, count the total items and report the totals to Lauren Buckalew\, then deliver them to a local agency that feeds the hungry in our community. \nPack 110 will deliver all of our collected food to the West Chester Salvation Army located at 101 E Market Street\, West Chester\, PA (Market & Walnut across from Mas restaurant – NOT the Salvation Army store).  Any scouts interested are welcome to spend some time at the Salvation Army location to help bring in and sort food donations. \nWe also encourage Scouts to include the bag letter with their donation bags to let people know where the bags are coming from and explain the purpose of the food drive.

DESCRIPTION:Pack 110 has been invited to march with the West Chester area veterans in the Veterans Day Parade to be held on Sunday\, November 3rd\, 2019 and to attend the Memorial Ceremony at the Veterans Plaza at the end of the parade. \nWest Chester pays tribute to all American veterans\, living or dead\, but especially to living veterans who served their country honorably during war or peacetime. Starting at 2PM\, the parade will run from the Penn Street side of Henderson High School\, to Gay Street\, and then uptown to the courthouse. A special Veteran’s Day ceremony will be held at the courthouse immediately following the parade. \nJoin the West Chester Veterans Council and show your support for our veterans. No RSVP is necessary.  Please be sure that any participating Scouts arrive by 1:45PM dressed in Full Class-A Uniform.

DESCRIPTION:This is our big Opening Night for our 2019-20 Scouting year so there will be lots of fun activities for new and existing Pack 110 Scouts! We are counting on a BIG turnout from our existing Scouts to help make a BIG impression on our new and potential Scouts.  This first meeting will really set the tone for this year and will focus on Family Fun! \nWe will be collecting dues for existing Scouts and applications for new Scouts .  All new Scouts that register at the opening meeting will receive custom Pack 110 t-shirt.  Additional t-shirts for existing Scouts (and parents) can be purchased for $5 per shirt. \nBring a Friend!  Any existing Scouts that bring a friend that is interested in joining the pack will receive a special prize. Existing Scouts should introduce their guest to Mr. Comolli in order to receive their prize. \nThe Den Leaders and Pack Committee are excited about the upcoming year. \nFamily Scouting\nPack 110 is proud to be participating in the Family Scouting program. This means that we can open up our awesome Scouting program to boys and girls. DESCRIPTION:September 11th\, marks a very somber date in our nation’s history as the anniversary of an event that none of us will ever forget. \nThe Cub Scouts in our pack were not even alive when this tragic event took place.  To ensure that future generations never forget\, and to commemorate 9/11\, we are asking all Cub Scouts to wear their uniform to school and be prepared to assist in a flag ceremony to commemorate this event. \nWe will have them assemble in the library at 8:45 for a brief discussion follow by a flag raising outside with the entire school.

DESCRIPTION:Popcorn is our only fundraiser for our Scouting year!  It also supports the whole Scouting organization with 73% of the sales are profits back to scouting! \nPopcorn Sale Resources \nWe encourage each boy to do their best to try to sell at least 10 different people… but more sales will bring incentives & prizes. \n\nA percentage of the Pack’s profits raised by the scout will go into that  Scout’s “Scout Account”.  Balances in Scout Accounts can be use to offset individual expenses (trip expenses\, Blue & Gold tickets\, etc.)\nAdditional prizes may be earned by scouts based on how much popcorn they sell (see below order form for details).\nAll Scouts that sell $250 or more of popcorn get to throw a pie in the face of on of their leaders!\nTop three (3) sellers get an extra pie to throw a pie in the face of on of their leaders!\nParticipate in two (2) or more Show-N-Sells OR $600 or more in door-to-door sales and win a trip to Treehouse World\nParticipation reward: If you made your goal (of at least $25 or sell popcorn to at least 3 people)\, set up your online account or participate in a Show-N-Sell\, you get to participate in an Ice-Cream Party!\n\nAll popcorn order forms must be turned in by October 13th.\nPack Show-N-Sells\nOur Pack Show-N-Sells scheduled at Acme\, Wawa\, Brothers Pizza & ACE Hardware this year.  Show-N-Sells are a great way for Scouts to build comradery and learn about teamwork and is also a great way for any Scouts that do not feel comfortable with “door-to-door sales” to participate in the popcorn fundraiser.  When a Scout participates in a Show-N-Sell\, a portion of the profits earned during his shift will be counted towards his total sales for the year.  To see a full list of Show-And-Sell dates and locations\, and to sign up for a shift\, log into your Scout’s Trails-End.com account and click “Book a Shift”. \nPlease notice that some of this year’s Show-N-Sells take place before the opening pack meeting so they may be a great place for the boys to catch up before the big kick-off. \nWant to get a headstart on your popcorn sales?\nWe will be distributing hard copies of the popcorn order form to all scouts at the opening pack meeting in September\, but if you want to get started earlier please feel free the check out the Trails End website for online sales details. \nThere’s an App for that!\nNew this year\, you can now track sales and take payment through the new Trails End app. See the Popcorn Resources page for instructions. \nSell Popcorn Online!\nDo you have friends/relatives that would live to support scouting by buying popcorn\, but they live too far for personal delivery? DESCRIPTION:Program Guide\nHealth Form\nAdditional Information\n\n\n\nThis summer\, Pack 110 will be attending Camp Ware’s “Ancient Egyptian Adventure” Cub Scout Overnight Camp from July 25th to July 28th. Summer camp is an exciting opportunity for Cub Scouts to have a lot of fun while accomplishing many requirements to help them along the advancement trail. Overnight resident camp offers programs that draw from the Cub Scout advancement requirements in your scout’s book wrapped up in a cool theme. \nPrograms are rank specific\, designed to help Scouts advance.  During the four & five day sessions Webelos can begin their adventure on Wednesday or Thursday; Cub Scouts will begin their stay on Thursday.  All arrive on Friday for the three day session. \nYour Scout will have an amazing adventure swimming\, shooting\, exploring nature\, building things\, crafting\, playing games and making new friends. The Cub Scout summer camp experience runs Thursday through Sunday for all ranks (Tiger\, Bear\, Wolf\, Webelos and Arrow of Light). \nGiven the option to arrive a day early\, your Webelos/Arrow of Light scouts get the camp to themselves. Program provides them with a little extra something regarding moving on to Boy Scouts but don’t fear they’ll get equally as much attending for only four days.  This is pretty cool in that the Webelos can then help the younger Scouts acclimate. Regardless of when you get to camp\, a great time is guaranteed… Both Scouts and adults!  \nParent Campers Welcome\, but not Required\nIn order to have a successful week at camp\, we are required to have adequate parent attendees to supervise the scouts\, but if you can’t attend your scout still can.  Besides the opportunity to spend quality time with your son/Scout in an outdoor setting void of the distractions video games and television\, you too will benefit from the valuable message shared by our trained camp staff. DESCRIPTION:Our day camps provide children with positive and fun experiences that build character\, new friendships and a sense of belonging that will last beyond the summer. Sessions are led by experienced and nationally trained staff. We also partner with local community organizations to bring additional program opportunities to your child. \nPrograms vary from site to site and include such activities as: \nScout Skills / Archery / BB Gun Shoot / Crafts / Sports / Games / Fishing / STEM / Swimming /\nand more! \nSpecial activities* including – themed games\, first aid demos\, guest speakers\, fire fighters and police officers at certain sites add more fun [*Special activities vary by site]\nAll of the Cub Scouts who attend Day Camp will receive a special 2019 Day Camp patch and t-shirt to remember the days that they spent investigating adventures. \n2019 Summer Camp Rates\nEarly Bird Registration (if paid before March 1st\, 2019) – $225 (save $25!)\nRegistration (if paid March 1st\, 2019 or later) – $250 \nDay Camp is loaded with tons of activities that help scouts learn new skills\, make friends\, and earn electives along the Cub Scout advancement trail. \nDay Camp Locations:\nJune 24 – June 28 – Anson B. SUMMARY:2019 Family Camping Finale
DESCRIPTION:All Pack 110 families are invited to attend our final camping event before the summer. Our June 8th location is the beautiful Hibernia County Park\, full of great wooded trails leading to open space for frisbees and catch\, or a visit down by the lake. This is a great opportunity to explore nature and have some fun outdoors. The boys have a history of good luck fishing on this trip so be sure to bring tour fishing pole (Children do not require fishing licenses. SUMMARY:Rocket Launch & Family Campout
DESCRIPTION:Our cub scouts are currently building rockets that we expect will be launched several hundred feet into the air.  All of the rockets have streamers to ensure their safe return.  Please join us and your children can help us retrieve the rockets once they return to earth.  After the launch\, we will move over the Brandywine Red Clay Alliance (formerly BVA) for a Pack Family Campout.  Please feel free to join us for any or all of the day’s events. \nSignup Genius for Campout Food \nNot a Cub Scout yet?\nThis is a great opportunity to come see what it’s all about. Bring your own rocket to launch or just come out to watch the show. Stay for dinner and s’mores!  Many families will also be camping out overnight.
